If, however, you know the system a little, then few tips can help.

The following are some tips you must know in order to change, activate and edit the articlems template:

1) When you install a new template you must go to SETTINGS –> GLOBAL SETTINGS
here you can select the new template.

2) After selected the new template you must go to EDIT TEMPLATE and select the new template so that if you want to edit something in the blocks the changes will be saved in the template

3) When you are logged in as admin and go to your homepage, you see a menu bar on the top left.
To edit something click the link EDIT MODE
Passing over your mouse you can see some little picture. clicking the picture it’ll open a window containing the code/text etc.
But please be sure on what you do, or you’ll lose the template structure.

Before doing any changes EXPORT the template.
To do so go to TEMPLATES –> MANAGE SKINS
and click the link EXPORT on the right of your template (ie. 4ColPremiumRed2)
It’ll export the actual template into your server under skins/export folder. Save it on your computer.

This wi’ll help you in case of wrong changes made.

If you make something wrong and the template doesn’t work good, you can install it again.
To do so goto TEMPLATE –> Manage Skins.
On the right of your template you can see the link DELETE . Click it and confirm that you want to delete the template

Then with your FTP go to the server under the SKINS folder and delete the template folder.
Then upload again the template you have exported.
Go to TEMPLATE –> Manage Skins and INSTALL it.
Then go to SETTINGS –> GLOBAL SETTINGS and select the template you have just installed
Then go to TEMPLATE and select the template.

Creare un nuovo block  -  Per fare cio’:
in  admin — TEMPLATES

sulla sinistra c’e’ il link chiamato
NEW BLOCK

Cliccare il link

>> Create New Block

Chiamare il block come preferite  ( advert1 – advert2 etc.) ,  settarlo come  UNIVERSAL e premere il pulsante SUBMIT

Ora ritornate al  TEMPLATES, scegliere il block appena creato, aggiungere il codice ads all’interno e salvare.

A questo punto non resta altro che aggiungere questo codice  {$Blocks->advert1}  (ovviamente advert1 sta per il nome del blocco creato) nella homepage, sidebar, articles etc. dove si vuole che l’ ads venga visualizzato.

Non e’ difficile ma bisogna stare attenti quando si aggiunge o cancella del codice nel template, perche’ si rischia di rendere inutilizzabile il template stesso.

1) From your articlems admin goto

SETTINGS —->
Edit Settings
Per-Template Settings
» Submission Settings

2) Scroll Down and find
Add Another Field —-> Select : IMAGE Then in the Name: put this ” Summary_pic ” and press GO,
then click UPDATE

3) Now goto — TEMPLATES —-> SUBMIT

- in the HTML part
find: Summary
and just below add the following code:

Add a Small Image to the Summary:(Size: width=100 – height=74)

{$Article->input_Summary_pic}

- In the PHP part add the code below:

4) Now goto TEMPLATES — DEFAULT — LATESTARTICLES

find the code {$this->articles[$this->i]->url}’>{$this->articles[$this->i]->title}

and just below add the following code

That’s it.

Now to test it submit an article and in the summary you can upload an image from your PC.  When you have published the article, if all is ok, you’ll see the uploaded image.
